MS Printing Solutions Printing technologies for textile industry, garments and special materials.
Production and development of machinery and complete installations for textile printing, high fashion, garments and substrates of any kind, with digital (ink-Jet), traditional and mixed technologies. Technical assistance, engineering, development of special solutions, assistance on inks supply, consumables, traditional and special dye stuff.
MS story reports the solution to several specific problems and the discovery of significant innovations. Here are some of them
First in the world to print at over 150m/hour with the digital (ink-jet) technique MS has always been in the forefront of digital (ink-jet) textile printing in the world market. It has been the first company to carry out a digital printing system able to print at over 150 linear (running) meters per hour, when the average speed previously reachable was between 25 and 60 linear (running) meters per hour. The new MS machine offers better quality, 300% approximate productivity increase, lower close-to-traditional printing break-even of printing costs. Innovative printing heads offer seven drop (grey) levels, compared with the three existing before, and granting higher flexibility and printing quality. As for other MS machines the system is open: it can use any software on the market, most of the existing operative systems, all the most diffused consumables. The turning table revolution Up to the eighties traditional textile printing carriages were using tables up to 100 m long, on which the actual printing machine ran. A MS client was forced to move to a much smaller facility, where the reduced building size did not allow the installation of traditional machines. MS studied a solution where the fabric attached on a rotating printing blanket for its whole circumference, runs passing as many times under the printing station as the number of colours to be printed; the positioning of the fabric under the printing station is achieved with a 0.03 mm precision. Moreover the operator can control the process from a fix working position instead of moving back and forth along the machine to follow the carriage. The solution of the so-called “turning table” resulted in a 50% saving of plant space. Furthermore the drying phase could be isolated with an improvement of labour conditions. The new MS turning table solution, that nobody could imitate successfully, up to day has achieved 700 installations all over the world. Its Technical features are so peculiar that experts often refer to fabrics with particular printing quality as “ MS printouts”. Digital or traditional? MS designs and offers the best of both techniques Traditional printing systems offer the possibility of getting special printing effects with silk screen technique, with as many printing passages as the colours required. MS studied a technical solution combining traditional and digital (ink-jet) technology, building a traditional-digital machine with turning table, digital plotter and silk screen flat printing. The special solution has then become a standard solution, thus offering digital printing advantages combined with all the possibilities of special effects peculiar of traditional printing process. Therefore the new machine together with the digital technique, offers the possibility of combining it with several special effects, such as: Devoré printing Swelling lakes printing Gels Glues for gilt transfer paper Glitters Gold , silver, metallic colours The warehouse is small? Let’s make it automatic! A supplier of some big house-furnishing mall chains had the problem of handling the storage of a large amount of fabric pieces per day: the space in its facility had become too small for the traditional manual handling. Instead of moving somewhere else the warehouse for finished fabrics, MS suggested to integrate the storage management in the informative flow of the production, automatizing it with a robotized system. Instead of traditional shelving, the storage facility has been changed in a complex of containers, lined up as a chessboard and managed by a sorting robot: the bar-code reading system was integrated with the managing and logistic system of the fabric rolls. Instead of moving somewhere else the warehouse for finished fabrics, MS suggested to integrate the storage management in the informative flow of the production, automatizing it with a robotized system. So, three results have been achieved: Space saving Loading and unloading times optimization 30% delivery increase per day First in the world in the machine production for t-shirt printing MS has been among the first companies to produce small digital printing machines for fabrics and clothing. In 2003 MS designed the first digital printing machine in the world dedicated to t-shirt and garments. Previously t-shirt printing was carried out only with thermal transfer with paper or carousel systems. With the MS solution direct printing on garments and t-shirts is now possible and with the best quality. Productions are ranging from 5 to 250 pieces/hour according to the machine being employed. Printing is made with printing inks, it is washable just like traditional printing, and is much more resistant than thermal transfer solutions.
Entry level machines can be used with normal pc and notebooks and are suitable to small entrepreneurs, artisans, events organisers, discos, pubs, parishes, gymnasiums, associations and to all those who want to realize personalized garments and t-shirts as a unique souvenir for their public, fans, associates, followers. MS Cube, the compact printing machine for every gadget MS One and MS Cube are particularly meaningful products of MS: they are small and compact machines suitable to print on a very large range of objects and supports such as: pens, highlighters, key cases, mobile phones, remote controls, switches, plates, toys, promotion materials as plastic, leather, wood, aluminium, metals in general. From textiles to foodstuff, in absolute safety A foodstuff company was in need to print signs and decorative images on its products in a more efficient way than the traditional one, obviously in the full respect of all hygienic and non–toxicity standards required by these items. MS has started experimenting with some micro printers models replacing textile inks with foodstuff inks and adapting its technology to the specific alimentary use. So MS has produced printing machines to decorate bread slices, wafers, and every foodstuff surface suitable to receive its dedicated inks: snacks, cakes, biscuits, ready-to-eat portions, bread and bread substitutes and many other products. MS printing machines allowed the customer a productivity gain, realizing flexibility and efficiency in comparison with traditional systems and a 20% productivity increase per number of decorated pieces.
